Freelance Google Ads Specialist

I offer Google Ads management services for UK small and medium businesses and in-house marketers who want their campaigns run properly without being tied into a long contract. You pay a fixed monthly fee and deal directly with me, the person doing the work.

I'm Google Ads certified and have worked in digital marketing since 2017, spending my whole career in small, fast-paced agencies before going freelance. Google Ads management sits within my wider PPC and paid search services, and you can read more about me and how I work if you'd like some background first.

What My Google Ads Management Service Includes

Google Ads management is the ongoing work of planning, building and running your Google Ads campaigns. It covers keyword research, campaign setup, ad copy, bids and budgets, conversion tracking and reporting, so your ad spend goes towards the searches most likely to bring you leads and sales.

Here's what you get when you work with me:

  • A fixed monthly fee, priced on the number and type of campaigns I run for you and never as a percentage of your ad spend. My fee doesn't creep up just because your budget does, so cutting wasted spend is always in both our interests.
  • There's no long-term contract, so you stay because the work is paying off.
  • You keep full ownership of your Google Ads account and all of its data throughout.
  • Every project starts with a free discovery call about your goals, budget and timeframes. If I think Google Ads is the wrong channel for your business, I'll say so and point you towards people in my network I trust.
  • You get a custom Looker Studio report each month that pulls in your Google Ads, Google Analytics (GA4) and Search Console data by default, and I can add other sources. We then meet to go through it together.
  • Google Ads training, in person or online, if your team wants to build confidence in-house.

I can run everything for you or shape the service around the skills you already have. If you've got an in-house copywriter or your own reporting set up, I'll fit in around them.

Sectors and Businesses I Work With

I've run Google Ads across B2B and B2C sectors including financial services, healthcare, construction, security, pets and flowers. That has included running Google Ads for a UK building materials supplier. My clients range from niche B2B businesses to large B2C companies serving thousands of customers, and I've worked on international campaigns too.

On one lead generation account, I rebuilt the landing pages so each one matched the ad group sending traffic to it. Average cost per click across all keywords fell by 21%, and one keyword dropped by 43%.

How I Manage Your Google Ads Account

Discovery Call

Our first call keeps me accountable to what you actually want to achieve. It also lets me flag anything that could get in the way early, such as a goal your budget can't realistically reach.

Keyword Research

Next, I research the searches your customers are making and what your competitors are doing. Part of this is choosing the right match type for each keyword. Broad match reaches a wide range of related searches, while exact match keeps your ads focused on the terms you choose. The balance between them affects how far your budget goes, so I'll talk you through it and you can give feedback based on your margins and priorities.

Campaign Setup and Structure

I can set up a new Google Ads account from scratch or work within the one you already have. Each campaign and ad group gets a clear job, which makes the account easier to manage and the results easier to read.

I usually build in stages, starting with the campaigns that carry your highest profit margins, which suits smaller budgets. If you'd rather have everything live at once and the budget allows for it, that's no problem.

Ad Copy

I write ads that match what people are searching for and give them a clear reason to click. Relevant ads tend to perform better, and they give the landing page a clear promise to live up to.

Landing Page Review

A great ad can still waste money if it sends people to a page that doesn't deliver. I review the pages your ads point to and advise on how to make each one match its ad and make the next step easy, as the example above shows.

Conversion Tracking

Tracking gets its own step because everything else depends on it. Google explains that conversion tracking shows which keywords, ads, ad groups and campaigns are best at driving valuable customer activity, and its automated Smart Bidding relies on those conversion signals to optimise your campaigns. I check your conversion tracking as part of setup, and if it needs more work, I also offer Google Analytics, GA4 and conversion tracking setup as a separate service.

Ongoing Management

Once your campaigns are live, I keep developing the account as the data comes in: adjusting bids, budgets and match types, adding new keywords, cutting out searches that waste money and testing new ad variations. As the first campaigns settle, I build out the next ones.

That day-to-day work includes keeping an eye on the overall health of your account. If you'd rather have a full, independent review of an existing account before deciding on ongoing management, take a look at my PPC account audits.

Google Ads Formats I Manage

I'll recommend the mix of campaign types that suits your business and budget.

Search Ads

Search ads appear when people look for what you offer on Google. They suit any business people actively search for, from B2B companies to service-based B2C businesses.

Shopping Ads

For ecommerce businesses, Shopping ads show your products in the search results with an image and a price, so shoppers can see what you sell before they click.

Display and Remarketing

Display ads use visuals to reach people across websites and apps. Remarketing keeps you visible to people who have already visited your site, so you can bring them back to finish what they started.

Performance Max

Performance Max gives you access to Google's full range of channels, including YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail and Maps, from a single campaign. It's often thought of as an ecommerce tool, but it can work well for lead generation too.

Local Services Ads

Local Services ads are built for local service businesses such as plumbers, electricians and roofers. Google only offers them for certain business categories in the UK, and some categories are limited to particular areas, so I'll check your business is eligible before we plan around them.

Microsoft Ads

If you'd like to run ads on Microsoft Advertising (formerly Bing Ads) alongside Google, the same skills carry straight across, so I can help you run both.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does Google Ads Management Cost?

Google Ads management with me is priced on the number and type of campaigns I run for you, never as a percentage of your ad spend. It's a fixed monthly fee, and your ad spend is paid to Google separately. Once we've had a discovery call, I'll give you a clear, bespoke quote.

What Is the Difference Between Google Ads Management and Google Ad Manager?

Google Ads is the platform advertisers use to buy ad space, and it's what my management service covers. Google Ad Manager is a separate ad management platform for large publishers who sell advertising space on their own sites.

What's Included in Ongoing Google Ads Management?

Ongoing Google Ads management with me covers keyword research, campaign setup and management, ad copy, landing page advice, conversion tracking checks, and adjusting bids, budgets and match types as the data comes in. You also get a custom Looker Studio report and a meeting every month to go through your results.

Do I Need a Long-Term Contract?

No. I don't tie clients into long-term contracts. You pay a fixed monthly fee and keep full ownership of your Google Ads account and data the whole time, so you're free to change direction whenever your business needs to.
